The Duo formed by Dario Balzan (saxophones) and Marcello Grandesso (accordion) was born from the meeting of two musicians united by a deep chamber-music sensibility and a strong interest in dialogue between art music and popular traditions. The ensemble, rich in timbral and expressive possibilities, allows the Duo to explore repertoires ranging from historical twentieth-century music to contemporary writing, with particular attention to crossovers between classical music, jazz, and folk traditions.
The proposed program centers on works of great charm and expressive intensity by composers such as Isaac Albéniz, Astor Piazzolla, Javier Girotto, Nino Rota, and others.
The Duo thus offers an intense and engaging sonic journey in which interpretative rigor and expressive freedom merge, providing the audience with a musical experience rich in contrasts, colors, and emotional depth.
